There seem to be no reasons for doubting that these are cases of genuine protective mimicry.
A statement, basically appropriate for any situation when one gives a thought or feeling, that shows that whatever one says is completely obsolete. This shows when one uses "Doubt it! Ooh!" that he or she will not take any **** from anyone.
