Internet Stories or "Fan-Created works of Fiction" that are posted all up over the internet and usually done by Hardcore Fans on TV Shows before or after they get pulled off the airwaves.
When a show gets canceled in May 2004 by an already lame network, you can bet there will be a Fan Fic of the series by September.

Short for fan fiction, is not a plural. Usually based on books, brands, movies ect.
Often times, fanfic is a bunch of crap and takes away from the story's real plot. However, there are a few good pieces out there that don't stab and kill the real thing
Many authors allow fanfic to be posted without consent, as long as it mentions that the characters were created by them. However, other authors (AKA killjoys) are idiots and don't see the free promoting of the book, and don't alllow fanfic at all.
Harry Potter Fanfic crazy (Girl): ahhh that Draco-slash-Harry fanfic was so amazing! And then that femeslash Herminone and Luna story was totally amazing! EEEEEEE!

Fanfics are online books based off fandoms and are usually quality works of art
They must be treasured.

Writing fake situations based on people you have never met or characters that are not real, the people are celebrities, musicians, artists, characters in a book etc...
Person 1: "OMG, did you read that fanfic about Harry Styles?"
Person 2: "No not yet, I'm still reading the one about Niall Horan!"

When you watch an awesome show, or read an amazing story, then after a while on the internet you see a horribly disturbing story utilizing the characters from whatever you're watching doing terrible things, mentally shaking you.
"Hey man never read the fanfic 'Cupcakes' about MLP FIM"
