record deal

1. Something to be highly suspicious of

2. Something someone offers to a band in order to steal all their songs, their souls and their will to live and then proceed to make alot of money from it.

1:
Band Person: "Someone offered me a record deal today, I rock"
Band person's friend: "Dude, tear it up and burn it"

2:
Music Industry Guy: "Hey kids, you're gonna be rockstars.. if you sign here."
Innocent band: "Ooh, yes please. We'll be rich!"
Music Industry Guy: "Mwaahahahahaha! See you in HELL!"

Atlantic Records

A record label, which according to Weird Al Yankovic, sucks.

This is a description of a scene from "White and Nerdy":

Al: I edit Wikipedia!
(On screen, there is a computer with the Atlantic Records edit page pulled up, with in big blue words "YOU SUCK!" on the edit box.)

Empire Records

Empire Records was made in the late 90's. Starring Liv Tyler and Renee Zellwegger (now both high payed actresses) It is about a record store that grows on everyone. The main story in the movie is being able to keep the store. In the end - I'm not giving it away.

hey, look - Empire Records is on - let's bake some magic brownies.
