Dead

Dead is the term used when the absence from school/college is unknown by fellow pupils and friends and therefore you are simply known to be dead

Bob: Where's Tony today?
Fred: Dunno
Roy: He's probably dead

Tony: Hey guys I'm back
Roy: So you're no longer dead?

Fred: Tony, what a fuckin skiver
Bob: No mate, he's dead
