bachelorette

A sham word primarily used by certain Americans of sub par intelligence to describe the female version of a Bachelor.

The term was coined to feminize the masculine word bachelor through the added 'ette' - a wholly idiotic and nonsensical endeavor akin to calling a single mother a fatherette.

This term was born of ignorance and misguided feminist intentions.

Speakers should instead stick to the traditional terms Hen or Doe.

bachelorette

A term describing an unmarried woman, usually used to describe an affianced woman having a night on the town with her friends soon before her wedding.

Also used by single women who find the term "spinster" too old-fashioned and "prude" inapplicable.

The bachelorette and her friends thoroughly enjoyed the Chippendales show.

It will be a long time before the word "bachelorette" gains the acceptance enjoyed by the word "bachelor".

Bachelorette

A feminine form of the word bachelor. Really just a synonym for 'spinster' but a TV series called 'The Spinster' sounds a whole lot less attractive because of the implication that an older unmarried woman must be damaged goods.

I watch The Bachelorette to convince myself that even beautiful women can be as single and desperate as me.

Bachelorette Degree

Noun. Plural: Bachelorette Degrees. Recently adopted politically corrected term for an advanced degree granted by institutions of higher learning when the recipient is a female single lady Bachelorette, formerly only referred as a Bachelor's Degree, regardless of sex of the student.

Origins: Anyone receiving an advanced degree from the darkest of ages was called a Bachelor (i.e., male, single dude, living away from home and telling his folks he studies all weekend. If the Bachelor attended most classes, took every test, and paid his book store balances in full, he was awarded a Bachelor's Degree, autographed on sheep skin (in the age before desktop publishing).

As society achieved enlightenment, females single ladies, aka Bachelorettes, joined their brother studentsโ€™ Bachelorsโ€™ efforts in growing numbers. Since Bachelorettes are jointly exposed to all the same teachings of thought, morality, and sublime artistry as Bachelors, it only makes politically-corrected sense to employ the term Bachelorette Degree when referring to the fairer sex student recipient of the conventional Bachelorโ€™s Degree.

The term Bachelorette Degree was first found in social media public comment, appearing 5/14/2013, and posted by the family relation of Tabby K., of Denver, CO, in honor of Tabby K.โ€™s upcoming graduation commencement ceremony. Word.

(1) "Hey Girl, I hear you're getting your Bachelorette Degree this weekend! Can I be you when I grow up!!"

(2) "Goodness, I sure hope I get my Bachelorette Degree before the effort kicks my butt, steals my joy, and I die trying!"

(3) "Anthropologists will someday pontificate upon the societal reasons why American language primarily evolved as masculine, to eventually achieve enlightenment by evolving to the feminine. The speed of adopting the term Bachelorette Degree is a primary example of how just how fast we can clarify the American Lexicon and thus purify our language." ~ A Loving Auntโ€™s Prophesy To Her Niece
