scum

(adj.) Possibly the worst word you can have your name associated with.

It is hard to define the word, but it is basically used to describe someone so disgraceful that they are seen as the lowest form of life. "Worthlessness", "waste of skin", "dirt". "Nothing". Far worse than most other insults, where the victim is often just referred to as genetalia.

The fact that "scum" is a non-swear, and seen as perfectly acceptable English, makes it even more demeaning and offensive. If you are condemned as a "cunt" or a "fucktard", then you are simply being attacked with cliché profanity, used spontaneously and with no particular venom or thought. "Scum", however, is usually only used in exclusive conditions where it is the only word for the job, and makes the victim feel like the lowest of the low.

You are scum.
Absolute scum.

omg choon

An expression typically used by trance junkies, when they hear a decent track.

Sometimes it can be used in the ironic sense, and needn't be associated with a track of outstanding musical merit. For example, upon hearing 'Tiesto - Traffic', while hardly a work of genius, omg choon would still be an appropriate reaction, because, well...it's 'Traffic' innit.

See: OMG I DIE, omgtijs, etc.

<Armin van Buuren> That was new the new track from Push!!
<dave> omg choon!!

trance

A form of electronic music that has spiralled out from other forms such as techno and house. Essentially, trance combines a powerful "4-to-the-floor" (or occasionally breakbeat) drumtrack with a strong melodic hookline.

Trance is indisputably one of the most emotional genres that actually exists, because it is all self-interpretation. There are no instrumental or musical limits to trance, and rather than listening to some random guy screaming about his life, associating with a trance progression or hookline is much more deep, and much more personal.

Like other genres, trance has many subgenres, some of which have become very commercialised to the extent where the musical merit of some tracks must be questioned (eg. Flip'n'Fill, Scooter etc.)

At the higher end of the more uplifting, melodic (and relatively popular) styles of trance are DJs such as Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, and Ferry Corsten. These DJs in particular can make beautifully structured mixes their own music, and the music of others, building it into a euphoric collage which spans multiple energy levels, in order to provide the listener with peak/trough feelings, and carry them through numerous emotions and mental states.

The creation and spread of trance music is mainly down to machinery such as the Roland JP-8000 (providing the prominently manipulated supersaw wave), and experimental DJs such as Sasha & John Digweed.

I want to listen to a melodic, energetic form of music that emotionally affects my state of mind. Therefore, I will listen to trance.

ehhh

An expression used to compliment a blank, retarded facial expression.

If used on its own, 'ehhh' is a show of confusion or uncertainty. However, it can also be used as part of a sentence, even multiple times, when immitating a person of inferior intelligence, or someone who is slow on the uptake.

"Ehhh!"

"And Jonny was all like 'Ehhh, I is ehhh, wanting to know if you is wanting to buy my car."

lard

An enthusiastic, friendly greeting, usually made from one male to another. It originated from an exaggerated "Lad!" ("Laaaaad!"), before obtaining the extra 'r' to give it a deeper, more solid sound.

Woahhh! John lard!
