Courting is the experience of developing a deep relationship with someone, with a view to seeing if marriage is right for the couple, without the complexity of sexual intimacy being part of that relationship. Enabling each to find out everything about each other, developing unconditional love and trust, with out rushing things, to decide if this really is the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.
They enjoyed their carefree courting days, long walks in the sunshine, talking, getting to know each other in great depth, enjoying each others company as true friends.

Dating is for fun. Courting is for marriage.
Traditionally Courting would include no sexual activity but today that is not usually followed.

To have an excuse to not be "dating"....yet still routinely boning. A way to subtly deflect impertinent questions with sarcastic humor via archaic terminology without offending the one with whom one bones.
"Dude, I saw you with that girl last weekend. What's up with that?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Are you dating?"
"Nah, we're just courting."

To flirt with girls in a gentleman-like manner such as holding doors open and listening to what they wanna talk about and occasionally kissing their cheeks. Talking in French, Spanish or a British accent just to make them blush is also very acceptable. It takes a lot of work to become a beast court-er. The intention behind courting is not driven by lust but rather to win the heart of a lady by showing off intelligence in foreign culture, gentlemen manners, and even musical talent.
